A little care, between wears.
Always begin with the care label on the garment. Different fibres, blends and finishes require different treatment, so the instructions for your particular knit take priority over a general guide.
Between wears.
Give a worn knit time to rest and air in a suitable, dry place. Look over the surface before putting it away, and deal with marks according to the garment's care instructions.
When it needs washing.
Check the label for the permitted washing method, temperature and drying instructions before cleaning. Use the washing and drying methods specified on your garment's label.
Support the garment's weight when it is wet and avoid pulling it out of shape. Follow the label's drying instructions and reshape only as appropriate for that garment.
Putting it away.
Make sure knitwear is clean and completely dry before storing it. Folding can help avoid stretching caused by hanging. Choose a clean, dry storage space and check stored pieces from time to time.
